I am truly blessed with three children that are all past the glorious age of 18. Like all parents say…They Grew SO FAST! However, the nine years since Global Transport’s founding have gone EVEN FASTER.
This week marks seven years since we moved to our headquarters facility. We were only 2 years into our adventure back then, but needed to leave what I not so affectionately called “The Freight Cave.”
The Brook Park terminal was a dream. 32 docks. Tons of parking. Offices to spare. Unlimited potential.
The move led to many sleepless nights for Alex and me. How on earth could we ever fill the palatial building? Take advantage of all it offered? HaHa.
Recently when named among the fasted growing companies in Cleveland by Crain’s Magazine, I paused to evaluate our progress.
Drivers fight for those “plentiful” docks. We have over 60 employees, who are thankfully spread among our six satellite offices. Now we lose sleep deciding to add a trailer drop yard or off-site storage to supplement our bursting at the seams operation.
Looking back, I’m not sure I could explain how we got to where we are now. It’s a blur in many ways. I’m most grateful for the employees and partners that have been in and out our doors. (Thanks, all!) They all played important parts in the success story we are writing.
Seven years have passed in the blink of an eye. I could never have predicted how things have gone. Now I look forward to preparing, the best we can, for the uncertain future that is racing at us.
